Although we all know this deep down – it doesn’t make it any easier when we are in a “low” time – and that’s okay!
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming. There can be a lot going on and it can be just utter chaos. Don’t worry sis, we’ve all been there.
But no matter how scary, or even “bad” it may seem, there are always things we can do for ourselves to help change our perception and also clear our mind a little! (hopefully). If you’re relating to these, you’re probably wondering what the f do I do about it then?! Well, let me tell you.
1. Spend More Time With Yourself
Spending time alone often gets a bad rap. It’s sometimes seen as lonely, but trust me, learning to enjoy and embrace your own company is so powerful. It’s about finding peace within yourself, even when things are hard.
Yes, it can feel confronting to sit with your own thoughts—especially if you’re going through a rough patch—but it can also be just as empowering to know that you CAN, and that you have the power to re-write those thought patterns at any stage.
Go take yourself on a date! Go to the movies, go on an adventure, go to the beach, for a walk, go shopping – literally do whatever it is YOU like to do sis! And enjoy it!
Yessss I know, I know. You’ve heard it a million times before. “Just journal.” But you might be thinking, what do I even write?
The answer: ANYTHING!
There is literally no right or wrong thing to write.
You can either do this on your phone notes or in an actual journal, and simply write about what you’re going through at the moment to help get it out of your head. OR, you can take the time to list some things that you’re grateful for and also the things that are in your control.
Because more often than not, when there’s a lot going on in our lives, we tend to focus on the SHIT things that are happening, and also the things that are out of our control – which simply allows these things to have power in our life.
So write whatever the f*ck you want! Just get it out of your head and you might find that once you read back over it, you have a clearer understanding on what YOU can do to help work through it.
If you’re not much of a writer – that’s okay! But please, for the love of god: DO NOT HOLD IT IN!
Emotions and feelings are meant to be expressed—whether that’s through writing, talking, crying, or whatever else feels good for you. Sometimes just hearing someone else’s perspective can give you fresh insight or help you see things from a new angle.
So, find someone you trust and talk it out. Let them know what’s going on, how you’re feeling, and let them help you work through it. You might be surprised by how much lighter you feel just by sharing your thoughts with someone else.
Again, you’re probably like “duh” – but when the going gets tough, this can be an easy thing to let slide.
But movement is medicine, sis.
Now, I’m not saying you need to hit the gym and SMASH yourself. Just MOVE. Whether that’s yoga, walking, dancing, or even just stretching in your living room—movement helps shift your energy and clear your mind.
When you’re physically moving, you’re also releasing tension, boosting your mood, and giving your body a chance to recalibrate. Plus, it’s a great way to check in with yourself and reconnect with your body in a positive way.
Do Whatever the F*ck Feels Right for You
At the end of the day, there’s no magic formula for handling tough times. You don’t need to follow anyone else’s rules or advice. What’s most important is doing what feels right for you.
F*ck what anyone else says or thinks.
This is YOUR life, queen, and only you get to decide how you live it. If what works for you is different from what works for others, that’s okay. You do you. Trust yourself, and take care of your mind, body, and soul in whatever way feels best for you.
